ZQuiet vs SnoreRx: Choose The Best

ZQuiet vs SnoreRx: Choose The Best

Do you or your sleep partner snore? Don’t feel bad. About a quarter of adults snore every night, so you’re not alone. I know that my sleep partner can really get into sawing logs in the middle of the night, which can be very annoying. So, we recently bought some of the most popular devices on the market to stop snoring. Time to compare ZQuiet vs SnoreRX Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece.

There are so many to choose from that it’s easy to get lost in them. Even though we aren’t doctors, we are people just like you who have snoring problems and have tried these products. Today, we’ll compare ZQuiet vs SnoreRX to see which one is most likely to work best for you.

ZQuiet Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece

ZQuiet Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece

Because it is soft and flexible, the ZQuiet feels very good in your mouth. If you breathe through your mouth, you can wear the device because it lets your mouth stay slightly open.

The loose fit took us by surprise. We thought that the ZQuiet would fall out of our mouths during the night, which is something that some users have said happens. We never had that happen to us, though.

With a toothbrush and soap, it was easy to clean.

My ZQuiet Experience

For $79.95, ZQuiet gives everyone two mouthpieces that vary in how far they move your jaw forward. To figure out which size is best for you, you just put one or the other in your mouth. I had to use scissors to trim my wife’s a little so it would fit right.

The first night, my wife snored softly, but she said I didn’t make any noises. My jaw was a little sore, but that went away after the second night.

After using the ZQuiet for two weeks, we both felt very at ease with it. Because of how it’s made, you can even talk normally while wearing it. People who have a cold or a deviated septum will also like the ZQuiet because it lets you breathe through your mouth while keeping your airway clear.

It took almost no time to clean. The soft, one-piece design was easy to clean with a toothbrush and some dish soap.

ZQuiet is now one of my favourite ways to stop snoring.

SnoreRx Mouthpiece

SnoreRx Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece

My wife and I were a little worried about wearing the SnoreRx because of its strange shape. The worries were for nothing. The Flex Jaw adjustment piece, which is an important part of the SnoreRX, is what gives it its look.

When compared to many other MADs, the boil and bite and Flex Jaw fit very well. There are ten settings, and each one is 1 mm apart. This makes it feel like it was made just for you.

Putting it in a glass of warm water with a cleaning tablet is not enough to clean it. To make sure you get rid of all bacteria, you will need to scrub some of the parts that have cracks and nooks.

My SnoreRx Experience

Before trying to put it in our mouths, my wife and I took some time to carefully read the instructions. We used the boil-and-bite method, then put the teeth in our mouths and used the Flex Jaw to make them fit better.

After the first night, I needed a second adjustment because my jaw was a little sore when I woke up. The second adjustment helped because the pain was gone by the next morning.

We both slept well and woke up feeling good. When I got up in the middle of the night to let the dog out, I heard nothing from my wife.

My son, who stays up later than we do, said that neither of us was snoring.

Cleaning was a little hard, but it wasn’t too hard. Before putting them in warm water with a denture-cleaning tablet, we had to scrub the cracks.

Quick Look at Mandibular Advancement Devices

These two items are both called “mandibular advancement devices” (MADs). From what we’ve seen, MADs work very well because they move the lower jaw forward, which keeps the soft tissue and tongue from blocking the airway.

Material of construction

A medical-grade copolymer is used in the manufacturing of SnoreRx mandibular advancement devices. Latex and Bisphenol A (BPA) are not present in this product.

ZQuiet is made of BPA- and latex-free medical-grade material. The material has no smell or taste and is safe to use because it follows all FDA rules. The mouthpiece is also very soft, which makes it comfortable and easy to use.

Differences in Customization

Since everyone is different, it’s hard to make a mouthpiece that fits everyone. Each of these products has a way to make it fit better. For SnoreRX, this is done through a process called “boil and bite.” By heating the material, you can bite down and make an impression of your teeth, which makes the product fit well in your mouth. It only takes about ten minutes to do.

On the other hand, ZQuiet does things in a different way. When you place an order, they give you two products, one of which is bigger than the other. They say to try the small one first, and if that doesn’t work, move on to the bigger one.

Suggestions for Male vs Female Snorers

In our case, we found that SnoreRX’s more advanced way of customising the device made it fit us better. But if you and your sleeping partner both snore, I think it might be helpful if one of you could use the larger option while the other used the smaller one.

If you have a very big jaw, I’d recommend SnoreRX because even the biggest ZQuiet was too small for my sleeping partner. On the other hand, I think ZQuiet will fit better if you are a woman or if you have a small jaw.

ZQuiet vs SnoreRX: Do They Work?

Let’s get to the real question you want to know: do these products stop snoring? The good news is that both of them helped my sleeping partner… but each one had both good and bad points.

When my sleeping partner used the SnoreRX, I had a night without any snoring. But because of the fit problem we talked about earlier, ZQuiet did fall out of his mouth, which caused him to snore sometimes. The fact that the product can be opened and closed made it even harder to slip out.

SnoreRX helped us sleep without snoring, but it did make us more uncomfortable and sore in the jaw for the first four nights. So, again, if you have a small jaw, I think the SnoreRX might be too big and uncomfortable, while the ZQuiet is small for men who snore.

There are many reasons to breathe through your nose when you sleep, but sometimes that’s not possible. If you breathe through your mouth, both of these products can help:

ZQuiet

MADs do not offer Living Hinge Technology, which allows the product to open and close.

SnoreRX

The V-Flow design allows the product to be pretty open all the way around, however, the mouth can’t open and close.

I like the V-Flow design of SnoreRX because I try to sleep with my mouth closed, which also keeps me from drooling too much. But if you breathe through your mouth, ZQuiet might be a better choice.

Lower Mandibular Advancement Customization with SnoreRX

SnoreRX has a few features that aren’t found anywhere else. For starters, it has a feature called “Micro Fit,” which lets you move the lower jaw forward by one millimetre at a time. This can make the product more comfortable and also help you find the best fit for reducing snoring. This option also has the Posi-Lock feature, which lets you lock in the position of your lower jaw so it doesn’t move while you sleep.

Durability Differences

How well you take care of the product will have a big effect on how long it lasts. Both can be cleaned with toothpaste and a toothbrush, which is good news. This makes it very easy to fit into your everyday life.

SnoreRX is great because it has extra features, and I think it works better on men to stop them from snoring. However, it only works for nine to eleven months. I would like it to last a little longer for $99 for one device and $154 for two.

ZQuiet, on the other hand, only costs $89.90 and lasts about 15 months if it is taken care of regularly. If you care most about durability and don’t have a very big jaw, I’d recommend ZQuiet. But if you have a big jaw and/or snore when your mouth is open, I think it’s worth the extra ten bucks, even though it won’t last as long.

Maintenance Differences

SnoreRx

Every day, you should use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean the SnoreRx mandibular advancement device. You can use an ultrasonic cleaner to get the best cleaning results. Denture solution should be used to clean the device once a week or every other week. After cleaning, let the device dry in the air before putting it away. Mouthwash, dish soap, ammonia, bleach, and other harsh, abrasive cleaners should not be used to clean.

ZQuiet

You should use warm water and mild dish soap to clean ZQuiet. For the best results, use a toothbrush. If you use toothpaste on the device, it could change its colour and surface. Make sure to rinse the mouthpiece with water to get rid of any soap before putting it away.

Potential Side Effects

With SnoreRx mandibular advancement device, users may experience the following side effects:

  • Salivation in excess;
  • Sore gums and teeth;
  • Soreness in the temporomandibular joint;
  • Movement of a few teeth;
  • An occlusion change of a minor nature;
  • Breathing obstruction in the mouth

ZQuiet may cause some side effects, including:

  • Fatigue of the jaw;
  • Gums might become sore;
  • Sense of salivation.

Slight Catch on Trial Period with ZQuiet

You can try out each product for 30 days. When you order ZQuiet, you only pay $9.95. After 30 days, you’ll be charged the rest of the amount. In short, this means that the trial period is not totally free. Both products are FDA-approved, but neither can be used with dentures.

Comfort

The comfort of one man is the torture of another. Let’s be honest. The mouthpieces are both wearable and comfortable to use. However, I prefer the ZQuiet over the SnoreRX due to its ability to move and more streamlined design.

FDA Clearance

SnoreRx and ZQuiet have FDA clearance.

Price

During the 30-day trial, you have to pay $9.95 for shipping and handling for the ZQuiet. If you decide to buy it after 30 days, you have to pay an extra $79.95. On the other hand, the SnoreRx costs $99.00, plus $2.28 for the medical device excise tax and $10.00 for shipping. All together, it comes to about $118.28. So, if you buy ZQuiet instead of the SnoreRx, you can save about $30.

Our Verdict

In our case, SnoreRX was better, but as you’ve seen, there are many things to consider when figuring out how well it will work for you.

Even though ZQuiet is supposed to last longer, people with bigger jaws are more likely to find SnoreRX more effective at stopping snoring, since Michael’s ZQuiet kept coming out. If you are a man with a big jaw, you should buy the SnoreRX and save your $9.95 for a 30-day trial of ZQuiet.

On the other hand, I would tell women who snore to spend that small amount and give ZQuiet a try first. For the price, you can expect it to last a long time. It is made of medical-grade materials that are free of BPA and latex. If you breathe through your mouth a lot, ZQuiet is also the better choice.

I hope you have a better idea of how these two high-quality products are different. Both of them stopped us from snoring, so I think it’s all about finding the one that fits your mouth best.
